ColonyIQ

Autonomous beehive monitoring platform using embedded sensing, acoustic analysis, load-cell integration, and real-time data acquisition for non-invasive hive health monitoring.

Overview

ColonyIQ is a full-stack embedded systems project designed to monitor honeybee colony health non-invasively. The platform integrates acoustic sensors, load cells, and thermal sensing into a synchronized, low-power data acquisition system built around the Raspberry Pi.

Technical Highlights

  • Designed synchronized multi-sensor architecture (acoustic, thermal, weight)
  • Developed embedded acquisition firmware for continuous field deployment
  • Modeled power consumption for 7-day low-power operation target
  • Integrated load cells and acoustic sensing with real-time signal processing
  • Built expandable system architecture for commercial scaling
